Ayah Alassali

 

Ayah Alassali holds an MSc degree in Chemical Engineering and a BSc Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemical Engineering.

Alassali worked in the field of research and development in topics ranging from leachate characterization to drugs preparation. She joined Masdar Institute of Science and Technology as a Master’s student in 2012. Pursuing her interest in sustainability and environmental sciences, Alassali joined Dr. Mette Thomsen’s lab and worked on a project studying native halophytes for the aim of biofuels production. In June 2014 she joined Masdar Institute as a research engineer, where she was assigned tasks related to biomass characterization and pretreatment.

In March 2015 she started working with Dr. Alejandro Rios Galvan on the techno-economic analysis of the Seawater Energy and Agriculture System (SEAS). Ayah is assessing the commercial-scale viability of SEAS by studying both the technical and economic aspects.
